Medical Imaging

White Mountain Regional Medical Center's Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging Department provides state-of-the-art technology with experienced compassionate personnel to educate and test patients. We employ licensed Arizona State Radiology Technologists and participate in the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.

The department includes a variety of imaging services to help your healthcare provider learn more about your condition.

X-Ray

X-rays create images of bones and tissue to diagnose injuries and early-stage diseases, or to determine progress of treatment. WMRMC offers two x-ray rooms that have been equipped with digitally enhanced x-ray machines, as well as a portable unit.

Bone Densitometry

A performed scan will measure your bone mineral density (BMD). Your measurements are compared to a reference population based on your age, and sex. Your physician will use this information to diagnose about your bone mass and fracture risk. Measurements of bone density can help detect osteoporosis before bone fracture occurs, predict your chances of future bone fractures, determine your rate of bone loss and monitor the effects of bone replacement therapy.

CT Scan

A Computerized Tomography (CT) scan is a high-tech tool for looking inside your body without surgery. CT scans create two-dimensional cross-section images of your body. CT scanners use multiple low-dose x-rays taken in rapid succession while rotating around you. Computers process the information and create images that radiologists examine to aid in diagnosing your condition.

Nuclear Medicine

This procedure allows early detection of disease through utilization of a minute amount of radiopharmaceuticals called isotopes. These tests are painless with no anesthesia required and document the real-time function of your organs.

Ultrasound and Echocardiography

Ultrasound imaging is a safe, painless diagnostic procedure that bounces sound waves off internal organs or structures and then captures the returning echoes as a photograph or moving image. These studies require no injection or radiation exposure. Ultrasound is most commonly used for observing babies inside the womb. Echocardiography shows images of the beating heart. Ultrasound can also be used to examine other body systems.

Radiologist Interpretations of Diagnostic Studies

Diagnostic imaging studies performed at WMRMC Radiology Department are read by a board certified radiologist with the Medical Diagnostic Imaging Group.

When Will I Receive Test Results?

The Medical Records department at WMRMC sends radiology results every 24 hours.

Your provider will furnish the test results to you. If you wish a copy of your report, you may request it from your provider or contact WMRMC's Medical Records Department. Please allow 24 hour before requesting a copy of the report.

Billing Services

WMRMC provides billing services for the diagnostic imaging procedure and the Radiologist's diagnostic interpretation.

Outpatient Services

Our Radiology staff provides Outpatient services Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. To schedule an exam, please call the Centralized Scheduler at 928-333-7104.
